Urth Sluagh

Like the rest of the amphibian races, the Sluagh seem to have originated from the mysterious swamplands of Bogmother, then proceeded to scatter across U’rth over generations. The most humanoid of their kind, they tend to be squat and rotund in shape, with bulbous eyes and gaping mouths. Though primarily terrestrial, they rarely stray far from the water, and in fact spend their early years in a prolonged aquatic phase. Most famous is their jumping ability, allowed by long and very muscular legs.

Typically living in villages raised on stilts or driftwood, Sluagh are good-humored and down-to-earth people that happily mingle with other races. Valuing fun, comfort and the simple pleasures in life, they are pretty tolerant of the beliefs and actions of others, preferring to sit backl and let everyone enjoy themselves. This mindset gives them a popular image of being lazy and irresponsible, and although it’s not exactly true, it is not something they aren’t in a hurry to disprove. Music and celebrations are also things they quite enjoy, particularly if there are copious amounts of food involved

A sizable population of Sluagh continue to inhabit their ancient homelands, forming the majority of the fanatical cult dedicated to worshipping the Bogmother. While certainly disquieting, the Sluagh from the lands beyond choose to have no say on the matter, as spiritual faith is something that goes unquestioned in their culture, and in true Sluagh fashion, most of them just prefer to stay out of it and let them do their own thing.
