WIP - Eternal Legion Codex 6th Edition Update by Blazbaros WIP - Eternal Legion Codex 6th Edition Update by Blazbaros

It appears you don't have PDF support in this web browser. Download PDF

STILL CONTINUING TO UPDATE, SO ITS GOING TO LOOK HALF FINISHED.

Testing out how the PDFs look on dA -3- I did a lot of tweaking since the last update, reformatted a lot of the tables and such. Still no pictures yet, it'll probably be a good long while until I collect a ton I can use. And a few of the stories are still not complete either ^^; I'll get to those eventually.

For now, check it out, I think its coming along pretty good :D and if you notice spelling errors, point cost issues, anything of the sort, don't hesitate to leave a comment and I'll sort that out ASAP. Suggestions are also greatly appreciated.

If you have any issues with the chapter lore and what not, please note me and I can fill you in.

I'm confused about the Ixion Land Raider.

It says 'Gatling Stormcannon', is that the same weapon as the Icarus Stormcannon Array that the Stalker uses?

I wrote this up long before the Icarus Stormcannon was a thing, so I guess I need to rename that.

Messor from the B&C here. Don't know if you've then there the past couple of days, but a faulty raid card knocked out about 2 days worth of posts, your thread included. Activity seems to picking up, though, so if you want to repost it you may bring in some more insights! Anyway, on to the useful stuff. I know I asked some stuff in your thread, but as it's gone I may end up repeating, so please bear with me.

I seem to remember you saying you hadn't decided yet whether you wanted to roll with Iron Hands or Imperial Fists, hence the mystery here. My first question, then, is if you plan on making that clear when you do decide? If you choose one or the other, will it impact the IA a lot?

Speaking of mystery, you hinted at the 21st founding. If that's meant to remain a mystery, all well and good, I wanted to make sure. Is this unclear because you planned it that way, or is the Chapter's founding still undecided?

On related note, over on the B&C there are a lot of veterans who will insist that a Cursed Founding chapter needs a curse. I'm not one of them, but I did find that in trying to put more curse into my Cursed Founding chapter, I came to enjoy writing them a lot more, and I was more comfortable with their fit into the shared universe. Is that something you're aiming for/wanting to consider?

You mentioned their affinity for technology, both Dark Age and Xenos, but the only specific thing I noted was the Jetbikes. Were there other things I missed? It would be interesting to see some expansion on what these perceived techno-heresies are.

Any other particulars you would like reviewed/advised/whatever? Is it better by comment, or note?

Yeah I was wondering what happened there, I was unsure if I had replied to your post correctly, I'm not very forum savvy ^^;

I was hoping to have them have traits from both and that there was evidence that they could belong to either legion (relics, tactics, etc), but there's no clear-cut proof.  They may never find out and instead see themselves as successors to both and pay homage to both, which they may be, if that's possible. I have a feeling that it won't but it was worth a shot.

Yes to both the next questions, I did want them to have some sort of curse, but I was not entirely sure what it should be.  Perhaps that they replace their limbs, that could suggest there's some mutation.

I have not, but I was toying at the idea of tau-enhanced plasma guns (removing the overheat) and custom vehicles that aren't seen outside the legion, such as the Ixion Landraider.  I have change it later, since it seems Forgeworld is pumping out some sweet looking Heresy-era vehicles.  Despite being a successor chapter they could have access to powerful weapons like Fire Raptors and Javelin Attack Speeders.  One idea I was planning on implementing was the discovery of an Iron Hands Fellblade with a techmarine who had integrated himself into the machine, merging both his and the machine's spirits.

I am mostly concerned with fluff, the actual rules section of the codex I can handle on my own, I have to read the new codex to find out what to change anyway.  Comments are just fine.

I think it's fine for them to have that ambiguity, as well as venerating two Primarchs. There's still a lot of debate about if or how multiple gene-seeds can coexist in a chapter.

The replacement of limbs is pretty lean on the spectrum of curses. After all, even the Iron Hands will replace most of their limbs if they live long enough. So I'd suggest exploring the curse angle more.

My main question regarding the tech is how to justify the Legion obtaining it. By dint of being successors? Wouldn't that sort of technology be the kind of thing the Fists or Hands would remember giving up? You could go the finders keepers route, which would require a little more fidgety writing to be fully believable. So nothing wrong with advanced tech, just begs the question of getting it.

I very much dig. The curse is interesting, and intense, but they wear it well. It is also (I'm sure you didn't intend this) highly reminiscent of another Cursed Founding Chapter, the Fire Falcons. Interesting tack. The background has shaped up nicely. Anything else you wanted input on?

Huh, yeah I didn't think of that. . . kinda neat :D

For now I think its good, I'll let you know if I need help with anything else.  I think I just need to update the actual codex itself.

Yeah I was pondering on a curse, not sure what it could be aside from things already done, just figured it would be some kind of degenerate mutation that would cause them to replace limbs.

Most things they have are from them actually obtaining it, so yeah, probably finders keepers.  Or it could be lost tech belonging to former-loyalist legions that they could repurpose.
